3D Wave PET Felt Acoustic Panel
3D Wave PET Felt Acoustic Panels are thermoformed from high-density polyester fiber panels using heat-press molding technology. The flowing wave pattern introduces architectural depth to interior walls while maintaining strong acoustic performance.
Compared with flat PET felt panels, the wave geometry increases the surface area exposed to sound waves, helping diffuse and absorb noise more effectively.
These panels are widely used in offices, conference rooms, education spaces, hospitality interiors, and modern architectural environments where both acoustic control and visual design are required.

Material
Our 3D wave PET felt acoustic panels are made from high-density polyester fibers derived primarily from recycled PET bottles. Compared with mineral wool or fiberglass acoustic materials, PET felt panels do not release airborne fibers and can be safely handled, cut, and installed without protective equipment.
Key material characteristics:
Fiber melting point (around 240°C)
Formaldehyde-free
VOC emission level (E0 level if applicable)
Stable sound absorption performance
Excellent color consistency and colorfastness
Durable fiber structure suitable for thermoforming
The most commonly used base materials for thermoforming hexagon panels are 9mm and 12mm PET felt panels.
These thicknesses provide the best balance between structural stability, mold definition, and acoustic performance.
What Makes 3D Thermoforming Different from Standard PET Panels?
Not every PET felt panel can be thermoformed successfully.
Standard PET acoustic panels are typically flat sheets produced through thermal compression. They are widely used for wall coverings, acoustic partitions, and ceiling applications.
3D thermoforming panels are produced using a secondary heat-press molding process, which reshapes the PET felt surface into dimensional patterns such as waves, hexagons, or geometric textures.
This process creates several advantages:
- Increased surface area for improved sound diffusion
- Stronger visual impact for architectural interiors
- Integrated structure without laminated layers
- Consistent density across the molded surface
Unlike laminated decorative panels, thermoformed PET panels maintain a solid fiber structure, which ensures durability and stable acoustic performance.

Technical data: Fire Rating
Our PET felt panels comply with international fire safety standards:
- EN 13501-1 (B-s1, d0) – European market
- ASTM E84 (Class A) – North America
- BS 476 Part 6 & 7 – UK projects
- SGS test reports available
For thermoformed 3D panels, fire rating remains unchanged after molding because the base material is homogeneous solid fiber — not surface-treated foam.
Technical data: NRC value
3D Wave PET Felt Acoustic Panels provide effective sound absorption across mid-to-high frequency ranges commonly found in office environments, and low frequency absorbing also performs well when airgap is added when install.
3D structured surface improves sound diffusion performance, not only absorption.
Available:
- Reverberation chamber test reports
- Project acoustic simulation support
Tipical Applications
3D Wave PET Felt Acoustic Panels are commonly used in interior projects where both acoustic performance and visual design are important. Typical Applications include:
- Office acoustic feature walls
- Meeting room sound control
- Reception and lobby design walls
- Educational spaces and libraries
- Hospitality and hotel interiors
The wave pattern helps create a dynamic architectural surface while maintaining acoustic functionality.
FAQ
Q1: Are 3D PET felt acoustic panels purely decorative?
No. Although they are visually architectural, they still provide effective sound absorption, especially in mid-frequency ranges common in office spaces.
Q2: Can the panels be customized?
Yes. Custom colors, sizes, and pattern variations can be developed for large project orders.
Q3: How are the panels installed?
Common installation methods include adhesive mounting, mechanical fixing systems, or modular wall systems depending on project requirements.
Q4: Can small trial orders be produced?
Yes. Sample development and small trial production are available.
Q5: Are the panels environmentally friendly?
Yes. PET felt panels are produced using recycled polyester fibers and are fully recyclable after use.
